RULES FOR INVENTORY
by Sinthus

This a new system for keeping track of what the Heroes can carry with them. There are 2 types of items, Active and Storage.

Active - these are items the Hero is using (sword in hand, armor they are wearing, ring on their finger).

Storage - things the Hero is not using but carrying (stuff in the back pack).

For Active items just use common sense. You have two hands to hold things, can wear a helmet on your head, wear a type of armor, wear some boots, have a few rings, etc...

For Storage items you must make a chart. The chart has 2 boxes. These are easily changed to make it so heroes can carry more or less, depending on how much you want to allow. In this example I use a big space and would recommend this be the largest used (see variations at end).

Box #1- This is the main storage space. It is 10 squares wide and 4 squares high. In the main storage area you can carry anything. Each item you carry takes up a certain amount of space and examples are listed below. In the examples there will be the name of the item, number of spaces it takes up, and the shape it is. The Battle Axe below takes up 6 squares; 2 squares wide and 3 squares high.

Gold - each empty space can fit 50-500 gold coins; its up to the DM. If you allow 100 coins per square then 500 gold would take up 5 squares.

Box #2 - This is a small box that is 8 squares long and 1 square high. The only items you may put in this box is scrolls and potions. Only scrolls and potions in this box may be used during combat.

Variation #1
Change the size of the boxes to allow the Heroes to carry more or less.

Variation #2
This variation lets different Heroes carry different amounts.
Box #1 - For each starting Body Point the Hero has they get a space of 1 square wide and 4 squares high (the Barbarian would get a box that's 8 squares wide and 4 squares high, the Wizard's box would be 4 wide and 4 high).
Box #2 This box should be 2 squares shorter than Box #1 (the Barbarian's is 6 squares wide by 1 square high, the Elf's is 4 squares wide by 1 square high). The Wizard's #2 box is 6 squares wide so he can carry his scrolls and potions.
