30-11-03 The end so far.
Development of HQGM has come to a halt for all the usual reasons (lack of
time, interest etc.) These pages will remain as long as Dewayne and Ron
wish to host them. Thanks for all the feedback from you during the last
24-07-03 HQGM v2.6 is out and can be found on the
download page. I took the plotmaker beta and
implemented a new database engine with a much smaller footprint. You can
find it in edit mode under 'properties'. Press the generate button and
watch. I expect to add more variations in future HQGM version. So far
there's only kidnapping and retrieve scenarios. The plot maker dies now as
a standalone program.
The barbarian quest 2 has also been updated (1 monster corrected). Get it
from the quest packs page
06-07-03 I've been experimenting with a plot generator
for HQ as a step on the road to a full quest generator. Data is limited so
far but it should be enough for you to get the general idea. Suggestions
are welcome as well as reactions concerning its usefulness.

20-06-03 Tyler Steven Smith has submitted a quest "The
Maze" which is the alternate first quest from the UK version of HQ.
12-05-03 Just wanted to let you know of a bug that
can cause some confusion. If you use drag-drop to move heroes instead
of the arrow keys, the program fails to trigger traps and messages.
This will be fixed in the next version, but until then use the arrow
keys as the primary movement method.
22-03-03 A very minor patch is available form the
program download page. Get it if you are
using HQGM's upgrade option to avoid problems with Fimir's.
17-01-03 Updated the update
program. If you got a fatal error because of the file hqgm.ini

the occasional quest(pack) for me and others to enjoy, but the silence
has been deafening so far. So either the program sucks or you are

20-09-02 Finally an update! The
Frozen Horror quest pack and version 2.2
of HQGM is out.
Some new features are included:
"Dialogue" - you can now add NPC conversations with the
"Add object" - You can add replace objects during the game.
Good for surprises.
"Conditional trigger" Only if all heroes are in the room or
the last hero has passed a square will the trap/event be triggered.
All treasure cards are implemented too. You choose what expansions are
included in the treasure deck draws.

03-02-02 Release of version
1.01. Setup of v1.0 failed on some computers due
to DLL conflicts. These conflicting DLL's have been removed in this
version. Also added is the Monotype Corsiva font used in the
02-02-02 Only a few small bugs detected so now it's
version 1.0 Quest packs removed from program download, so you must get
them separately. At the same time ROTWL is released in the new format.
The Excel version is now terminated. all info on the site relates to
the standalone version.
31-01-02 Finally - The standalone
version of HQGM is in beta right now. Included in the package is:
3 quest packs (basic, Kellar, Ogre Horde), 24 furniture pieces, 5 hero
types, 42 monsters, 52 spells, 17 tiles and 16 traps.
You can create new quest and items (well ok creating items is for the
initiated right now - I'm considering an itemmaker program too)
Try it out and let me know what's missing/wrong. The feedback is
needed to make improvements. The interface is intuitive (I hope).
The Excel version will be discontinued when the new program is
